Chrage on property

An ex partner is trying to register a charge on my property. The property was originally in his name but he transferred it to me at an undervaulue (£20K)when our relationship ended. The only condition on the transfer was that I was to redeem him of his mortgage, which I did. I took on a mortgage in my sole name to purchase the property and became the sole registered propriotor. As I was purchasing the property at an undervalue my lender asked for me to get a letter from my ex stating how much he was selling it me for and the reason for the undervalue, which he did. 10 months later my ex is now trying to claim a beneficial/interest trust and is alledging that I forged his signature on the letter to my lender puporting that he was selling me the property. I am now getting into financial difficulties and desperatley want to sell the property orre-mortgage to a better deal but until this dispute is resolved, cannot do so. Do I need to inform my lender of this dispute, and if so would theyget involved, as the way I see it he is accusing me of fraudulently obtaining a mortgage. I would appreciate any help or advice. Thank you.
