Iva declines

If an IVA proposal is declined by creditors, can I apply for one again immediately, or is there some kind of wait period required?

whats best for me

i currently owe £50,000 debt i am privately renting, i have a car worth around £1,900 i am unemployed, my husband works but the debts are in my name.. i am on a debt management scheme set up by citizen advice of £150.00 per month but my husband is struggling with these payments would bankruptcy be better than a Iva for me

Hello Saz

Without knowing more about your situation it would be difficult to say. Does your partner also have debt? if so would you be looking at a joint case? Give us a call at DAT and we can have a look for you and advise accordingly based on your personal circumstances.

is iva for me

Yes my husband has debt

Hello Saz

If you gather together the information and give us a call we will look into the situation for you and see what is available, depending on your circumstances we could look at a joint case and hopefully make things more managable for you both.
Hope this helps.

Hello Penny,

If your IVA has been declined by your creditors there could be a number of reasons as to why this is, one of the most common reasons being that they are not happy with the return they will get from the arrangement. By looking into an IVA with a reputable company there maybe more chance of the arrangement being accepted, and here at the Debt Advice Trust any companies we deal with are all ethical and reputable. There is no wait period to look into an IVA with another company and you could start looking straight away. Why not give us a call and we'll see what we can do for you.
