I was in a serious position and needed help with debt. I was bombarded with adverts and mail drops from companies offering help and decided that a company offered some good advice. They said I will pay an agreed amount for 5 years and walk away debt free......Now when somone says that I take it that 5 years from now I will be debt free! I was then told to stop paying creditors (who all were at that time being paid with some trouble but still being paid) because I stopped this then put me in a position I could not get back out off. Then the company cam eout with ohhh you will also have to pay more and at teh end of 5 years pay an extra 15k.... now I think I was mis sold this and diddnt need to go down an IVA route. also I am not walking away after 5 years debt free as now I have to put myself back in debt (beariung in mind I will have to re mortgage and the exter 15k will take years to pay off) so I am not coming out of this debt free!!! this was the worst mistake I have ever made in my life trusting these people and fell conned. Who can I go to who will listen about the way these companies to stop this going on and taking advantage of some of the most vunerable people in the UK.
