Myself and my partner have a credit card with HSBC, we have been having to live off credit lately, even drawing cash out off the credit card. the card is now maxed out at £5000.00. We were unable to make payment this month and the bank called us yesterday morning to in form us that they have closed our credit card account (which is a good thing to be honest), and are going to take £300 out of our joint account (also with HSBC) on the 25th of this month, they are also going to take £100/month to pay off our overdrafts which are across 3 accounts in total, that is £600 in total!!! We also have our mortgage with HSBC and have never missed a payment, but this month I just can't see how we will make this payment. Can the bank do as they propose and what on earth can I do? I have applied for a new bank account with abbey as they have a 0% overdraft facility for 12months, I am thinking at least if our wages are paid into another account it will stop HSBC taking the money, however they will still be chasing us. We told them we couldn't afford to pay this money out, and in effect were told tough, we ARE taking the money!! I cant believe how zealous they are being, seeing as it is only this months payment we have missed!! Please where do we stand with this?
