While you have a minus £150 per month now - this is paying off your debts at the full monthly rate - yes? A debt management plan would mean paying your creditors a reduced pro rata amount - thereby giving you something to live on.

You are not beyond help

Hi Dont Panic In the event that a DMP or IVA are not suitable (though they may be if you speak to other providers) - then there's nothing to prevent you arranging your own repayment plan - back in 2001 the CCCS turned me down for a DMP and certain creditors refused to accept an IVA. i then had to sort it out myself. Starting point - list all creditors names and addresses, account numbers and balance outstanding. List all income, list all outgoings - determine whats left. Someone like the CCCS will work out a prorata repayment plan for you even if they wont accept you as a client - you can then send a copy of this to all your creditors with the suggested reduced repayment offer. As with all debt problems - spend less and earn more - are you getting all the benefits you are entitled to -can you work more - to include part time jobs. Analyse what you spend each month - what things can you do without (phone - you probably have a mobile, sky tv - back to ordinary channels, subcriptions for things, do you smoke - if so give up - 20 a day is over £100 per month you could be paying your debts off with) Your creditors will look at it exactly like this - why should you have luxuries and treats when you could be using the money to pay them - debt repayments need sacrifice and committment

steviewonderboy ??

I am in a possible same situation as anfield, I have worked out my income; my spending each week and this leaves me with minus 150 pounds per month. I have no sky, don’t smoke, I have a pregnant girlfriend who has got her benefits through; we have no sky, a pag phone. No landline. If I have no money to pay to the creditors at all then how do I offer them any money each week or each month? I was naive to take out the credit when I was at uni, but the bank kept offering me more money to consolidate, a 1,000 o/d has turned into a 20,000 loan. I had a decent job, lost it due to issues beyond my control. Something to do with affordable cheap labour on their part. What shouldn’t I go bankrupt and have done with or run the risk of spending the rest of 65 years struggling, receiving threatening letters, phone calls, interest building up. , paying off the creditors, which is the worst part, Coin of the realm and all that. You seem to have sorted out your situation, is mine the same as yours?

Hello anfield babe, I feel that you are unsure about the advice that I gave to you when we spoke last. I can understand that you may be confused in which direction to take. What is it about Bankruptcy that you are scared off? Have you received advice from other companies? If so what solutions did they propose/advise to you. What solutions are you expecting/leaning towards/would like? The Debt Advice Trust is a Debt Advice not for profit organisation who will give advice to people who are in a debt situation. The advice we give is specific to the individual and their circumstances. Unless major factors such as income, spending costs, equity fluctuations, change the advice we provide would still stand. I cannot go into detail the advice we gave to you on the forum, so if you still wish to discuss the advice provided to you by the Debt Advice Trust, in more detail please ring me. You have my details.

help

spoke to 2or 3 different people who all say the same because we havnt got any disposable income bankruptcy is our only option the thing i am worried about with bankruptcy is somewhere to live because we wont have the money up front to pay for the br we will have to leave our mortgage for a couple of months which will mean repossesion ?because we wont be able to pay it bk in installments has this means bein has bad burnt has scalded (no disposable income )there are no propertys round here to rent (only tiny village) and if there is you need a 1000 pound bond our local council wont help cos we not on list so we will be homeless
