Advice please

Hi all, would appreciate advice please. I am married, my husband works and I am a full time student. We have a mortgage and a large secured loan as well as approx £50k in unsecured debt. We have so far not missed any payments for our various commitments but it is getting harder every month. I work when I can part-time around uni but this doesnt help much. I have 2 years left on my course and am considering giving up and getting a full time job. But this is really a last resort as the degree I am doing will lead to a good job. Has anyone got any advice? Should we think about an IVA? Many thanks

Your Advice

Good Afternoon Laura73, Firstly, don’t be hasty thinking that giving up your university course will benefit. Here at the debt advice trust there are trained specialists in offering advice to anyone that is experiencing a/or possibly heading towards a debt situation. I am a little reluctant to advise what the best way forward is for you with out knowing a little more on how you manage your lifestyle. This would entail me to get a list of your creditors, you income into the property and finally, list what your monthly expenditure is each month. (Expenditure covers items such as gas, elec, water council tax bills, mortgage payments, food shopping etc, but does not include payments to your creditors). When we establish this we can then look at a realistic option to pay your creditors. The advice we give is free and impartial and there is no obligation.
