Seriously considering Bankcruptcy

Hi There I am about 13,000 in debt. I went to a place called 'AllClear Finance' in hope to solve my problem. They asked for £121 a month in order to deal with all my creditors etc but i am now finding it very difficult to pay that and fear the worse. I am on JobSeekers allowance, whereupon the government feel that i can not only support myself and my partner but also an 11 year old son on £21 a week (my partner gets Incapacity benefit but i got told this wouldnt affect my benefit) which it clearly has. Anyways. My dillema is only getting £84 a month to survive on, paying £121 a month to clear off my debts is somewhat impossible. My only fear in the bancruptcy legacy is what would classify as an Asset (treat like i am think hear lol) I am renting my accomodation from a Housing Assossiation, I do own have a car, other that the clothes on my back and the furniture with which i sit which i wouldnt classify as an asset. So what i am asking, although not classified as an asset to me, would things like TV's DVD Players Furniture PC's etc be classified as an Asset? if so, then what is the difference in making myself banukrupt if at the end of the day, the one thing i wish to avoid (ie the baillifs coming round to seize goods) and going bankrupt, if that eventually is going to happen anyway?? Thanks for all answers

Bankrupcy Options

Hi there just a small question, Can i declaire myself bankrupt with a debt for £10,000 I also in an IVA but struggle to make payments, if so how would i go about it? Many thanks in advance.

Hi from the info I have

Hi from the info I have obtained from other people and the citizens advice only goods that have a significant value will be taken. This may include your car unless you can prove you need it. But as far as I am aware things like dvd players and furniture will not be taken. There is a cost involved with bankrupcy tho!

Spendthrift, your right in that assets that the OR considers of reasonable value could be released to help pay debts and this could include electrical products and goods, but that would be decided by the Official Receiver in Bankruptcy proceedings. However where bailiffs attend prior to any proceedings they can take any assets that they think are saleable but before things get to that stage anyone with difficulties should give us a ring for help and advice.
