Credit granted to a bankrupt.

If a bankrupt applies to a store for credit and is granted it. Who is in the wrong? The bankrupt for appling or the store for granting it. Furthermore if the bankrupt some time later fails to keeps up payments. Could he claim it was the stores fault for granting the credit.

Hello dawill

They would have to speak to their Official Receiver/Trustee about this or even the Citizen's Advice. A bankrupt shouldn't be taking out any credit at all whilst in the bankrupty. Hope this helps
