Constant Phone Calls

After speaking to one of your advisers, I was advised that Bankruptcy would be the best option for me, I went ahead and made an appointment at the local county court to submit my forms, however the date I was given is not for another 3 weeks time. Can you advise me what I tell my creditors in the meantime who seem to be ringing me on a daily basis.

phone calls

we have been getting phone calls from a debt recovery agency stating we owe money to a mobile phone company. I contacted the phone company to ask why they didnt write to us to inform us that we owed them money, their reply was they leave it for a while then reffer it to a debt collection agency. We dont think we owe this money but the phone company wont send any information as we dont know thw account number(my husband hasnt used the phone for 2 years). We havw asked the debt agency to send details but they wont they just keep phoning. My main worry is that this will affect our credit rating. I dont know what to do as no one will give us antthing in writing

phone calls

i have been getting calls from company called GVI IN REGARDS MY CC ACCOUNT WITH MBNA,THEY ARE THIRD PARTY was mbna right to pass on my personal details.I wont talk to them ,just said am in contact with mbna will only talk to them.Any advice please.

Hello Mac141068

It will depend on weather you have given consent at any point for MBNA to pass your details on to other companies. If you have missed payments with MBNA Credit Card then they may have passed your details on to a debt collector. Speak to GVI, and ask them how they got your details, you have a right to know this, and also to MBNA about why they have passed your details on in the first place. Hope this helps.

Hello Brian

The best thing to do is to tell them what you are doing. Tell them that you have an appointment in 3 weeks time (give them the exact date in case they want to check this), and that you are taking steps to declare yourself bankrupt. At least then, they will know what you plan on doing and hopefully will stop calling. The phone calls don’t have to stop; as they will to want there money until the debt is paid so pay them tokens payment of what you can afford for the time being until your appointment. Hope this helps.
