16yr old bankrupcy

My husband went bankrupt 16yrs ago,(with a business partner), all dealt with 2yrs ago after a fight with O.R. regarding equity on house, house prices went up alot, not told he still had interest in house, then with new changes he kept threatening with an insolvency practioner which he was not supposed to do as partner in bankrupy was dealt with by him years earlier, so he has to deal the same to my husband. House was remortgaged in my name to raise funds to pay him off. My problem now is I want to remortgage again and put my husband name back on the house etc, does my husband have to declare bankruptcy if asked ? (as its not on files with credit ref agencies and he has a good credit score).Just feel were going to be penalised again with a higher rates etc. Any help anywhere.

Hello

If your mortgage company asks the question 'have you ever been made bankrupt?' then you would have to be honest and advise yes because otherwise this could be seen as false information on the contract and mean the agreement is then invalid running the risk of you losing the property.
It is always worth admitting the bankruptcy because they will still run a credit check, If his score has improved then this should go in his favour.
Hope this helps
