I am at my wits end! I can handle living with debt but I can't handle the constant harassment!
Yesterday it hit an all time low. I had a close friend over who answered the phone, trying to be helpful, while I was in another room. She passed them over to me and overheard my half of the conversation. It was incredibly humiliating.
One good thing came of it though and it was that I talked to my friend about my debt after bottling it in for so long. The humiliation has made me relies I need to take immediate action and not ignore my debt anymore. But how do i get the credit card company to stop calling me until I figure out what debt solution to go with???

You can also contact you phone company and ask for a different phone number if these creditors are driving you crazy. But try and work out a solution with your creditors if you can. Or at least work on paying off one creditor at a time. The one that you are in debt to the most and then work your way down to paying the next one off.

Don't let creditors ruin your life. We all want to pay our creditors back but sometimes can not do it right away. Tell your creditors when they call what you can do about your bill and be upfront with them. If you can make a small payment maybe it will make them stop harassing you for a short time. But let them know you are going to try. It is better to have some communication with them then none. You could do something like turn your phone off if it is getting to be too much but that is only a temporary sollution. It is better to try and work out a sollution with them if you can.

yea the best thing to do is work out how much you have comin in then work out wot you have to pay out then found the people you owe money to and tell them that you can only pay em soo much a week if they dont belive you send them a run down of your expenses and this will sometimes help to get them of your back
Solution
Something that helps is if you actually take a moment to work out a payment arrangement with the creditor and then stick to it. In the past I have had to do this, even if it was only twenty dollars a month, in order to keep them at bay. Maybe you could work something out with them?

Tell me about it! I'm trying to get a debt management plan up and running and even told the creditors I was trying to find a good debt management agency and hopefully it would be sorted soon. I thought it might ease them up but they havent slowed down at all.
To be honest I think the only way to get them off your back is to sort out your debt asap - but if you find another way let me know too!

Tell the Creditor the Truth
Tell them the truth about your debt and your ability to pay it each month. If you agreed to an amount be sure to keep the promise and pay it. If your situation changes, like loss of a job, then tell them the truth about it. It usually works and keeps them from thinking you've forgotten about them.
