Credit Agency is asking for MY financial info now!

My boyfriend owes nearly £25,000 after getting a loan for £15,000 a few years ago when he came back from serving in the army in Iraq. He ended up struggling to get work and ended up getting into financial dificulty paying it back. The loan was transfered to a credit agency who discussed monthly payments with him. For the past year he has kept up with the monthly payments but the credit agency have been really dreadful. Upping the monthly amount without telling him...then bullying him over the phone threatening CCJ's. I started paying the loan monthly using a credit card as he only has a cash account. He gave me the cash. When we spoke to them at XMAS they said they were offering a seasonal offer of having the debt owed! So they said if he paid £12,000 to settle they would except it. Ofcourse he didn't have £12,00 but thought it would be best to try and get a laon with his bank for just £12,00 to get them settled. The loan wasn't approved so he still have this huge debt. Recently they have said they want to up the monthly amount and they think he can pay more. We have sat down and gone through his finances and provided an honest breakdown of his outgoings. They told him today that they want MY information as he lives with me! I have never heard of this before and have refused to provide this. My boyfriend is getting really upset and stressed out and we feel like we are hitting our heads against brick walls trying to get around this. It is such a large amount of money and it's effecting our whole life together. We don't even go out together as he can't justify it! Is there anyone that can help us get through this! It's a nightmare!

I'm sorry to hear of the

I'm sorry to hear of the problems you are having with this. To my mind, the company you are referring to seems dodgy, and I would advise that you contact the Debt Advice Trust about this immediately, if you haven't already done so: they will be able to offer you the best advice.
