Help

Last april i took out a credit card with capital one for £500. At the time i was severely depressed with money and personal issues and it seemed like a good way to solve some of my problems. The worst idea i have ever had. I paid the first monthly instalment however due to financial trouble i then missed several and started to recieve phone calls demanding payments. I suffer greatly from anxiety and have convinced myself of many things that are going to happen to me. I have left uni now and the credit card company only have a phone number to trace me to so i have avoided it completely. I need to sort this out but i don't know what to do and what will happen to me. i just need advice.

Hello,

The worst thing that you can do is avoiding the debt as you have been doing. They are not able to offer any help to you if they don't know what situation you are in. If you can afford to pay a small amount back each month its always better than paying nothing at all.
If you don't feel confident enough to talk over the phone to them, try writing a letter explaining your circumstances.
If you have any further questions speak to one of our advisors at DAT. Hope this helps.
