Hi. In a short space of time, i've got myself into a load of debt..basically i became heavily addicted to the curse of gambling and ran up almost 30k of debt, once i'd faced up to the issue i immediately entered into a debt management plan, i want to go for an IVA in the future, but at the moment i can't make the payments required. Anyway i am making regular payments to a debt company so it's kind of under control for the moment. The more immediate thing is that when me and my wife were away in her home country, we borrowed around £750 from a friend (more like an associate) of her parents, this is now due back and upon coming home we moved into a new home, and now we owe around 2 months rent. We were out the country for so long to finalise her visa and the costs of living just kept coming and coming. The good news is that i now have a good job and we are in receipt of benefits, so we are able to manage our existing financial arrangements but desperately need around £2000. Before it wouldn;t have been a problem, but with my terrible credit rating i just can't find anyone to give us a loan. I did find one company, they said i'd been accepted, i then paid them an arrangement fee and the paperwork came through with an offer of a much higher repayment scheme than had been promised, and the need for a guarantor, which i can't find. I can't ask family to help out, they've helped us so much already and supported me through a gambling addiction. My credit rating was good before, but 9 months of madness has sent it crashing, I need this small loan urgently and quickly otherwise i don't know what might happen. Any advice appreciated. Paul.
