advice needed

I've got a debt on two credit cards. One card is about £7000 and the other one £1500. Thanks to hard work and help from friends and relatives I've managed to raise £ 6000 and would like to settle both cards. Should I make a full and final settlement offer on both cards or would it be wiser to settle the smaller card in full and then make an offer on the larger one? Please help

Re: Advice Needed

Are these the only two debts you have? The reason I ask is that, if you have more debts with the same company or other companies you could be deemed as providing preferential treatment to these credit cards, which ultimately may upset other creditors you may have and could potentially lead to other creditors demanding a share of available contributions. However, if these are the only two debts you have, it could be possible to ask the card companies that you have, an offer to clear the debts and what would they deem as a suitable settlement balance. See what they have to offer. I must advise, that even though an agreement may be made, settlement figures could possibly affect your credit rating, as you have not paid the total amounts owing as agreed originally when taking out the application of the cards.
