The title says it all really. Car boot sales you can get some really cheap stuff at, quite often cheaper than at charity shops. They're not usually suitable to go christmas shopping in - but you can pick yourself up some bargains and you never know what you might find. Or if you've got a lot of stuff you could sell, why not do one yourself? depending on the locations they can cost you between 4 pounds and 14 pounds to get your car in.
