I saw a note about car boot sales and thought I'd contribute this tip. Online classifieds like gumtree have a 'free section' with people giving their goods away. If you have a car, you can collect some free things in your local area then take them to a car boot sale with you - that way you'll be making money on other peoples junk!

If you have any left over at the end of the day and some of it is decent stuff - how about taking a digital photo of the goods and posting them in the 'swap' section of gumtree and swaping them to get something second hand you do need!

Many people give things away for free just because they don't have the time and patience to sell them, or they don't have a car in which to get rid of them. It may not be a way to make millions, but in the run up to christmas it could be a great way to make a bit extra.
