Student Life! (need some money saving tips...fast!)

Hi there,

I am currently a student at university and I am in desperate need of advice on how to save money. I am currently living with 4 other housemates and there are days when things do really get tight when it comes to money.

As a group we tend to eat out alot as we are normally to busy with studies to get in the kitchen and start cooking. As a group we are trying to find more ways of saving money, currently we have come up with:

- no more eating out
- buying raw materials (washing powder, washing liquid, staple foods) that do not cost so much money
- Decrease the usage of electricity (use the computers at the university library)

I was wondering if anymore forum members had any more money saving tips that could help us out?

Thanks

P.

Hey Paul, I would recommend checking out teh www,moneysavingexpert.com site, go throuigh the forums they have allsorts of tips etc on how to deal with debt, help to get out of debt etc. Also, if you and your friends have internet access you can use the following site for being paid for doing searches on line, works out at 2p a search. mysearchfunds.com is a great way for you to earn funds from your own nternet searching! You can earn even more if you tell your friends and they raise funds in the same way. https://www.mysearchfunds.com/faqs.html how much can you earn. Based on 10 searches a day and 10 friends, your possible earnings are as follows: In one month your searches will earn £7.50 In one year your searches will earn £91.25 In one month if 10 of your friends also did 10 searches and in turn 10 of their friends did the same and in turn 10 of their friends did the same you will earn £240.00! Hello Paul

There are a couple of good tips there I always found that shopping in bulk is a great saver too initial shop seems expensive but saves in long run as you dont need to keep buying items through the month. eg, a big box of washing powder can last 2-3 months. Also buying at supermarkets rather than local shops, this again can save quite a bit.
