Moved House...Need DIY Tips!!

Hi there,

I have recently moved house (London to Ipswich). Because London was getting a bit too expensive for me, I decided to rent a house in Ipswich which is proving to be alot cheaper for me

I have alot of work to do on the house and I am wondering if any forum members can give me a few helpful DIY tips that are cheap and easy to do!

The area I am concentrating on is my kitchen, as that requires the most work!

Hello Carrie,

It is becoming cheaper and cheaper at the moment to give your home a re-vamp a lick of paint and a few new accessories can usually do the trick. Visit your local DIY store and have a look round they will have leaflets with tips and idea's on home improvement.
Here are just a few:
New doors
New Handles
Work surface Overlay
Painting tiles
Painting Walls
New taps

Hi Carrie

Another good tip is to watch alot of those DIY programs that are becoming very popular these days. They can provide you with alot of use tips and information on how to build and design your house...especially if you are on a budget!

Changing Rooms is what started off this influx of new house make over programs!....CR was a really good program, the best bits were finding out if the couple liked the make over or not Was great entertainment
