its the thought -not the debt- that counts!
when buying pressies, it really is the thought that counts. i find if you really think about the person before you look for something you can think of something meaningful that doesnt cost you much. my australian friend loves this aussie author she can't find here, then three weeks ago i was looking online at the gumtree classifieds and decided to post an advert asking if anyone had any. I got several replies from people willing to sell me their books for a couple pounds. It didn't take much effort and she was so excited to get them! Because she knows how hard it is to get hold of them (without paying a fortune in getting hem sent over) she didn't mind at all that they were second hand. Second hand books have a lot of character so it could be an idea that works for others too.

The thought does count
Yes i agree that it is the thought that counts and not the price you pay. Personal gifts are much nicer and more appreciated by people.
Books are a very good idea that all people love.
