Bad luck to be in debt?

Few people in this world are lucky enough to be free from debt. I know I'm not and 99% of my friends are in some sort of debt joy. Yet there's something amiss in my last sentence, for being debt free is not about 'luck', but becoming debt free is about careful debt management and successful debt solutions.

It all sounds very boring and tedious, something your parents would lecture you on but it is just one of those facts of life, debt is a reality for millions of people and getting around it can be a life long, up hill struggle and more often then not, with no happy ending! Debt doesn't die with you, your loved ones and next of kin are responsible for effectively, your bad choices and financial failings. So not only would you have spent your life struggling, not able to free yourself from your creditors icy grasp but you have sent them directly knocking on your loved ones door after you have gone. Really nice of you isn't it and not to mention pretty depressing huh?

Of course, no one wants to think about the long term effects of being in debt. Being able to keep up with the trends, (be it clothes, phones, cars or holidays) is all far, far more important. 'Live for the moment' they say, but when did that saying first translate into, 'I don't actually have the funding for this, but I will pay for it anyway, I'll sort it out later...', maybe you will, chances are you wont!

Debt may sound dull, but if your in it you HAVE to address it, and the sooner the better. Why let it take control of your life, your life is for living not repaying interest rates on one of your numerous credit cards for a store that you don't even really like, they just offered a great deal! See how stupid it all sounds.

Get out of debt, it's not as daunting as you think!

With careful debt management, simple things such as a saving plan, to more formal arrangements such as an IVA could be your salvation. Debt doesn't need to have to control your life, do the right thing, pull your head out of the sand and find the debt solution that is right for you.
